It’s Vijay CC vs Jolly Rovers in final

Defending champions Vijay CC and Jolly Rovers advanced to the final of the TNCA first division league - Elite after winning their semi-final matches by virtue of first innings lead against AGORC and Grand Slam CC respectively here on Friday.

This would be the fourth time the two teams are meeting in the final. While Jolly Rovers won in 2012-13 and 2013-14 Vijay CC won the 2014-15 edition.  
 
AGORC, resuming from their overnight score of 145/9 in 64 overs added nine runs in 1.5 overs to be bundled out for 154, handing Vijay CC a 230-run first innings lead.
 
Left-arm spinner Rahil S Shah took his fifth five-wicket haul this season and tormented the AGORC batsmen to finish with figures of 5/38. Off-spinner B Aparajith supported Shah with a haul of 3/30.
 
Later, Aparajith became the lone batsman in the season to score 1000 runs during his knock of 33 as Vijay CC finished at 167/7 in 32 overs.
 
Aparajith was a stand-out performer with three centuries and four half-centuries in 16 innings with a best of 3306* against India Pistons in the season's opener.
 
Elsewhere, at IC-Guru Nanak, Grand Slam resumed from their overnight score of 52/3 in 15 overs to finish at 157/5 in 55 overs before play was called off at lunch.
 
Brief scores: Grand Slam CC 193 & 157/5 in 55 overs (M Shahrukh Khan 75* (157b, 7x4, 1x6), V Maaruthi Raghav 48, K Vignesh 2/15) drew with Jolly Rovers 270. (Jolly Rovers declared winners on first-innings lead). Vijay CC 384 & 167/7 in 32 overs (D Karthik 36, B Aparajith 33, R Lakshminarayanan 2/66, S Dinesh 2/6) drew with AG's Office 154 in 65.5 overs (N S Chaturved 6, M Vijai Bharath Ram 31, Rahil S Shah 5/38, B Aparajith 3/30).
