Uthappa hails ‘batting chemistry’ with Gambhir

In reply to Kings XI’s score of 138-8, Uthappa (53) and Gambhir (34) strengthened his side’s innings as they shared a huge 82-run partnership to help the two-time champions chased down the target with 17 balls to spare.

“I think we understand each other. We played a lot of cricket together. We complement each other’s game as well. So, we ran well between the wickets. I think the batting chemistry between the two of us is fantastic. We rotate the strike well. And in T20 if you can do 50-60 partnership it can put you in the winnings side,” Uthappa said. 

Admitting that it is important to have consistency in the performance, the 30-yearold said that he had just tried to give a solid start to his side so as to make it easier for the middle-order batsmen chased down the score.
