Local Snippets: Michelle stuns Swati

Michelle’s win led to a forced pairing on the top board as she was up against her senior at Air India, Vijayalakshmi Subbaraman in the last round. As both of them are from the same state (TN and AI), the natural pairing had to be changed. Vijayalakshmi proved she is too good for the field as she trounced Varshini V of Tamil Nadu to lead the field with eight points followed by Michelle Catherina on eight. Defending champion R Vaishali of TN drew with Kiran Manisha Mohanty of LIC to share third place with 7.5 points.
