Keen to put Wednesday’s defeat behind them, the bunch looked enthusiastic as they took turns at the nets. Shibi Jawahar and Aditya Barooah got some hits off fast bowlers and later faced some slower bowlers. After sweating it out, Badani had a lengthy discussion with the duo, offering course-correction methods. Some players had fielding practice — aiming at one stump — along with catch practice, spearheaded by the assistant coaches.

Later, Badani said he didn’t want the players to sweat it out after a tough game on Wednesday. “I wanted my boys to take some rest after a bad game. Winning and losing are part of the game and we have to move on,” he said adding that the boys aren’t thinking too much about the loss.

“We had a good session now. This session’s motive was for everyone to get some valuable practice. We had some players who were a part of the playing XI on Wednesday and we worked on some finer areas. The entire squad will be back in action at the nets from Friday,” Badani added.
