Madurai haven’t had a positive start to the tournament, losing their first match to Dindigul Dragons in a rain-curtailed encounter. In their second match, the Super Giants lost to VB Thiruvallur Veerans by six runs after losing course in the penultimate over of the match.

The Super Giants would hope to come good with an all-round performance on Friday. Their batting has come a cropper with P Shijit Chandran being the top-scorer with 39 runs. SV Muruganantham has been their highest wicket-taker with five wickets in two matches but with the likes of DT Chandrasekhar and M Raja, the Super Giants would be keen to make amends in the bowling department too.

On the other hand, Kovai Kings are at the back of an impressive performance against Tuti Patriots. MK Sivakumar was the talk of the town on Wednesday after the right-arm medium fast bowler took the first hat-trick of the league. With an economy rate of 3.73, Sivakumar features among the best bowlers in the league so far.

Kings can bank on the experience of J Syed Mohammed, who has a rich Indian Premier League experience. With Anirudh Sita Ram and L Suryap Prakash in their ranks at the top, a good foundation would be instrumental in Kovai’s charge to a win.
