Upbeat Dindigul look to maintain record

When they started their campaign in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, Dindigul Dragons would not have imagined that they would be leading the pack after three matches. But they have done that and they are the only unbeaten side with six points in the league.

Tuti Patriots will miss Karthik

On Sunday, when they take on Tuti Ptriots, they might also be aware of the fact that one more win could take them into the semi-finals. Unlike their rivals, Patriots had a mixed bag as they got off to a flying start in Chennai when they beat Chepauk Super Gillies. However, they could not replicate that success in their second match against Kovai Kings.

Dindigul, who have Ravichandran Ashwin in their ranks, did not even have to depend on the star player for their three wins. Opener Jagadeesan is in top form and is leading the run-getters list (202 runs) and M Ashwin, the leg-spinner, is also on top of the leading bowlers’ list (six wickets).

Tuti Ptriots are slightly on the back-foot as captain and key batsman Dinesh Karthik is away but Akash Sumra has bowled well for them with a good economy rate of 4.22.
