The TNCA President said two new venues would be added to the existing venues in an attempt to popularise the sport in the rural areas. “We should not forget that the league’s success stems from the interest from the district associations. We are planning a new stadium between Salem and Erode and one in Coimbatore. Four district venues will help spread the game better. A lot of district associaitions have contacted us and expressed interest to host the league,” he added.

With outstation players not a part of TNPL, Srinivasan said the good performance of the local players has changed his outlook on outstation players being a part. “This league is for the state. So many unknown people have performed. Before the league started, I wanted outstation player but now we will have a discussion and take opinion from all to see if that is required in the future,” Srinivasan added.
