This was for the first time when the India skipper lost a toss in home soil since gaining captaincy.

While the visiting side has included three seamers and three spinners in their playing eleven on a surface which looks good for batting for the first two days, India will be playing with five bowlers with just two pacers.

The kohli-led home side will have to at least draw the series against England to remain at the number one Test spot at the end of this year.
