Kohli has been at the helm of it all. The Indian captain has been extremely expressive on the field and his positive attitude has rubbed on all his teammates. After a draw in the first Test at Rajkot, India completely dominated the next four Test matches to win the five-match series 4-0 and Kohli was elated to see his team dish out a ‘complete’ performance.

“Yes, I would say it is a complete performance. From the time we were put under pressure in the first game to coming back and winning the next four Test matches. We lost four tosses in the series and winning three games out of that is very satisfying. As a captain, I feel it has been a complete series for us. Everyone contributed at different times. Especially the lower-order contribution is something that stands out for me in this series,” Kohli said.

The skipper lauded Ravindra Jadeja’s match winning effort and said the southpaw has strengthened the belief he had in him. “I am really happy for Jadeja, especially with his batting. We have always believed he has the ability but he is realising it now. He prepares well to go out and score crucial runs for the team, which is a bigger positive for me. We all know how accurate he is with the ball, but the biggest plus with Jadeja for the last few months, if you ask me, has been his batting,” Kohli added.

Kohli introduced Jadeja late into the attack on Tuesday and the captain elaborated the reason for the delay. “We created a lot of chances initially. When you have decent rough in front of you and when two left-handers are batting, you invariably get the off-spinner going because he can spin the ball from the stumps and Ashwin created those opportunities for us. After that it was a case of understanding that wicket was slowing down, so we might not be able get so much help from the wicket. So, that’s the time when brought in Jadeja because he has got that extra pace on the ball and we just wanted to keep hitting that area and he did it well. It’s all about figuring out if the wicket is playing out nicely, what are the areas the bowlers can hit, and it takes a bit of a time and you don’t rush into decisions,” he added.
