Manjeet, Sandeep make it big at auctions

It was Sandeep Narwal who set the trend as Puneri Paltan, Dabang Delhi and Bengaluru Bulls went all-out in bidding for the all-rounder. The Pune team finally bought Narwal for Rs 66 lakh.
Just when everyone was coming to terms with the purse, Jaipur Pink Panthers didn't think twice to keep bidding and pounce on Manjeet Chillar for a staggering Rs 75.50 lakh.
Rajesh Narwal wasn't left behind as Team Uttar Pradesh got him in their kitty for Rs 69 lakh.
Team Tamil Nadu however had a slow start on the first day of the auctions and didn't look aggressive with their bids. They were in the fray for Rajesh and Manjeet but couldn't continue their bids. They, however, added World Cup winning team hero Ajay Thakur in a priority list (extended to the four new teams) earlier.
The Sachin Tendulkar co-owned team drafted Bhavani Rajput (22 years, Madhya Pradesh), Prathap (21, Puducherry) and Rajesh (22, Tamil Nadu) in their team from the list of Young Indians, a draft that was held in the morning.
Defender Anil Kumar was the first player Tamil Nadu could add from the auctions for Rs 25.5 lakh. Later, they went all-out bidding for Amit Hooda and the defender would don the TN jersey for Rs 63 lakh.
Puneri Paltan and Jaipur Pink Panthers weren't in a mood to leave TN player Dharmaraj Cheralathan and finally Pune edged Abhishek Bachchan at Rs 46 lakh.
