“I think we can’t replace a coach like Bharat Arun. We have Muralitharan and VB (Chandrasekhar) sir with us. I am sure their experience will help us. Also, we have Divakar as our assistant coach. As of now, there is no official coach named as such,” Aparajith said after a practice session at the M A Chidambaram Stadium here. On his own form, Aparajith said he isn’t doing anything different this year. “The preparations have always been the same. I believe it is all about following the right process,” the explosive batsman added.

Terming the Tamil Nadu Premier League as a ‘prestigious tournament’, Aparajith said he is proud to be associated with such a tournament. “It is a very important tournament for us in the state. We have seen how Natarajan and Washington have  benefited from the TNPL. The IPL scouts will be watching us closely. If one performs exceedingly well, they have all the chances to play for IPL teams,” he added.

Aparajith’s team mate Malolan Rangarajan said the team management hasn’t decided on any strategy yet on his role in the team. “We haven’t discussed anything. I have always been a team man whatever it has been I’m ready to don that role,” the all-rounder said. The Veerans skipper said he isn’t thinking too much about his IPL opportunities.
