X Thalaivan Sargunam (41 off 30 balls), W Antony Dhas (26 off 16 balls) and K H Gopinath (23 off 12 balls) came good for Chepauk Super GIllies as it chased down the 164-run target in 19 overs.

Chepauk started going great guns but lost course in between when Thalaivan was out in 12th over with the score reading 97 but Dhas, U Sasidev (30* in 22 balls) and R Sathish kept their cool to restore sanity in Chepauk’s chase.

Earlier, Madurai Super Giant got off to a rollicking start with the openers KB Arun Karthick and P Shijith Chandran adding 116 runs in 12.1 overs as Chepauk Super Gillies was sent on a leather hunt. The assault started in the third over with Shijith taking on Sathish for 13 runs, that included a monstrous hook for six. It was Sathish who turned things around in the 13th over when he sent both Shijith and Arun Karthick back to the hut. With M Shahrukh Khan getting out in the same over, Super Giant slumped from 116/0 for 118/3.

Super Gillies then tightened the screws and Super Giant could score 47 runs in the last eight overs, losing seven wickets.
