Zeeshan scalps five wickets for UPCA
Leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari’s five-wicket haul enabled UPCA to restrict Hyderabad to 329 on the opening day of the semi-final in the Kalpathi AGS Buchi Babu tournament here on Monday.

Hyderabad still look to have the upper hand thanks to its batsman’s sterling performance with southpaw Tanmay Agarwal 65 (97b, 8x4) and K Sumanth 83 (94b, 11x4) raising 145 runs in 29 overs for the second wicket.
B Sandeep, too, contributed with a vital 84 (148b, 5x4) to prop up the total. At stumps, UPCA was six for no loss. In another semi-final, TNCA Districts XI was bowled out for 270 against TNCA President’s XI. Number eight R Sai Kishore showed his mettle with the bat by scoring 41 crucial runs and added 91 runs for the ninth wicket in the company of another tailender R Rohith 52 (116b, 5x4). When stumps were drawn, the TNCA President’s XI was eight for no loss.
Brief scores: TNCA Districts XI 270 in 86.2 overs (R Sai Kishore 41, R Rohit 52, L Vignesh 3/85, V Lakshman 2/60) vs TNCA President’s XI 8 for no loss. Hyderabad 329 in 81.2 overs (Tanmay Agarwal 65, K Sumanth 83, B Sandeep 84, Zeeshan Ansari 5/112) vs UPCA 13 for no loss in six overs.
