Tokyo Open: Sindhu crashes out, Srikanth, Prannoy advance to quarters
It was curtains for ace India shuttler PV Sindhu in the ongoing Japan Open after losing in the second round of women's singles event while Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy advanced to the quarterfinals.

Sindhu went down against local favourite Nozomi Okuhara 21-18 21-8 in the 47-minute long clash. The Olympic silver-medalist had earlier defeated Okuhara in the summit clash of the just concluded Korea Open.
Significantly, this was the ninth career meeting between the duo and now Okuhara leads 5-4.
On the other hand, World No 8 Kidambi Srikanth outclassed Hong Kong's Hu Yun 21-12 21-11 to enter the quarters. He will now face the recently-crowned world champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark.
Also, US Open winner H S Prannoy defeated Chinese Taipei's Hsu Jen Hao 21-16 23-21 to move to the quarterfinals where he will lock horns against second seed Chinese Shi Yuqi.
However, Sameer Verma bowed out of the tournament after losing 21-10, 17-21, 15-21 to Shi Yuqi.
In the mixed doubles, the Indian duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy lost 27-29 21-16 12-21 against fourth seeds Indonesian pair of Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto in the 66-minute long game.
Another Indian shuttler Saina Nehawal will face Rio Olympic gold medalist Carolina Marin later in the day.
