Indrajith hopes Tamil Nadu can still qualify
Tamil Nadu vice-captain B Indrajith retains the hope of advancing to the knockout stages of this year’s Ranji Trophy despite his team managing only a draw against Madhya Pradesh at Indore on Monday. The result leaves TN in fourth position with 11 points from five matches. Its next match will be played away against Baroda on November 25.

“We are pleased that we could manage to take the first innings lead. From the position we were in at 76 for six, it was a tremendous rearguard effort from Jagadeesan and Yo Mahesh. It has given us some hope. We are only focusing on winning our next match against Baroda. Looking at the wicket here, we thought we had a good chance of forcing an outright win. But MP played well to deny us that chance,” said Indrajith.
Asked about TN’s batting collapse in the first innings before the revival happened, the 23-year-old said that credit should be given to the home team’s bowlers. “They bowled in the right areas. Their trio of fast bowlers led by Ishwar Pandey, Puneet Datey and Avesh Khan bowled exceedingly well and according to a plan,” added Indrajith.
There is still an outside chance of TN qualifying but for that to materialise results from other matches should finish in its favour.
