Annadurai’s innings was ably supported by half centuries from SR Athish and Siddarth Prakash. Districts slumped to 158 for seven against City II with P Vignesh scalping three wickets for 37 runs.

Rain mars first day’s play:
Only one over of play was possible on the opening day of the first quarter-final of the Colonel CK Nayudu U-23 trophy match between Tamil Nadu U-23 and Hyderabad at NPR College Ground, Natham on Wednesday. Due to incessant rain, the match commenced at 2.03 pm and with rain interrupting again, the day’s play was called off at 4.30 pm. Hyderabad won the toss and opted to field. TN was three for no loss at stumps.
