Karnataka picks up three points from Vijay Merchant Trophy South Zone League match

Karnataka held a lead 48 runs in the first innings against Tamil Nadu in a Vijay Merchant Trophy (Under-16) South Zone League match at the NFC Ground in Hyderabad. Paras Gurbax Arya and NA Chinmay picked up four wickets each to help Karnataka secure its first innings lead. In the second innings, it was 79 for three at stumps on Saturday. By virtue of the lead in the first innings, Karnataka took home three points.

Tamil Nadu suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Hyderabad after it was bundled out for a meagre 126 runs in the South Zone Under-16 Girls One Day tournament at the Rajagiri College Ground in Kerala. Hyderabad strolled to the target with seven wickets In hand with Y Trishna Poojitha top-scoring with 76 runs.

Districts I clinched the trophy after gaining a first innings lead of 17 runs in the TNCA Round Robin Under-14 final at MVR ‘A’ Ground in Chennai. Replying to a total of 131, City I stumbled to an even meagre total of 114 and gave away the first innings lead to Districts I. The latter won the title courtesy of its first innings lead.
