“I’m looking forward to coming back to my second home and getting back to work with all the members of a friendly, professional and highly successful organisation. I want to make the next 10 years even more successful than our first wonderful eight years and share the success with our loyal and passionate fans,” Simsek said.
CSK won the IPL twice, finished runners-up on four occasions and qualified to the Playoffs in all eight seasons between 2008 and 2015.
“I can’t wait to see and rejoin some familiar faces on and off the field and welcome the new additions to the CSK franchise. There will obviously be some changes to the team that played in 2015, but I look forward to seeing what we can all achieve together in our new start,” added Simsek.
Speaking about the side’s return, Simsek said, “The other franchises know they are in for a much tougher IPL when the men in Yellow are involved... the IPL is a much better spectacle when the Chennai Super Kings is a part of the tournament.”
