The support for the Lions ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League season has been overwhelming, with thousands of fans turning up to watch the much-decorated franchise practice each day.

“To be honest it has been phenomenal, the support we have had from the fans. We have been blown away by the support and how excited everyone is,” added the Australian great.

“I know the players are really excited, the management, the captain (MS Dhoni), he’s extremely passionate about his team, we want to put on a great show, the players want to do well and we want to entertain the fans,” continued the 42-year-old, who turned out as a player for CSK in seven out of eight seasons in the opening decade.

“We want to take the good things from the past and create new history as well. It’s been a very successful team over the years, it’s been really well led by MS, we’d like to continue that kind of positivity around the team and hopefully we have more success,” he continued.

“In a lot of ways it is how you play the game. You are representing your team but are also representing your fans and you do have a responsibility towards your fans, to give your best effort to try and win games obviously for the team but also for the fans.”
