Lost our way in the middle overs: Cutting
Defending champions Mumbai Indians bowed out of the 2018 IPL following a shocking 11-run loss to wooden-spooners Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla. Ben Cutting provided a lot of hope by scoring 37 off just 20 balls, but he fell in the last over to virtually hand the game to DD.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Cutting said, “It shouldn’t be up to the guys coming in at No. 9, No. 10 or No. 11 to score runs. It was hard for the top six batsmen, let alone the bottom three to score. Like the other games earlier this season, we lost four wickets for 30 runs in this match.”
Cutting said the 175-run target was gettable. “I think the target was more or less achievable. We have seen a variation of scores on this ground in the IPL. We have seen teams score 200 and we have also seen teams like Chennai struggle to score 130-140. The way we went about it at the start was perfect. We just lost our way through the middle,” he said.
Cutting said he was happy with the tournament. “I would love to see bowler-friendly pitches. Maybe they could get rid of the front-foot no-ball. On the whole, the tournament was good. We had a fresh auction. And it’s all come down to the last match to know the playoff line-up. That’s what you need in a tournament like this,” he said.
Cutting finished the season with 96 runs and nine wickets in nine matches.
