Both teams have been impressive in the third season. Dragons strung three consecutive wins, while Tuti Patriots lost to Madurai Panthers after two dominating wins. Tuti Patriots lost its opener and captain Kaushik Gandhi early against Panthers and the middleorder failed to speed up proceedings. It was R Sathish’s enterprising 24 not out that propelled the side to 165/5.

The below-par score required its bowlers to produce something special but Patriots failed to take early wickets. Patriots will look up to its captain to deliver on the batting front and then pressurise the opponents with its bowling accuracy. Enjoying immense local support, Dragons will want to continue its winning ways and establish itself firmly at the top of the points table. Its win over VB Kanchi Veerans was clinical.

Dragons’ bowlers broke the back of Veerans early. Dragons then successfully chased down 167 as opener Hari Nishaanth provided an excellent start, Narayan Jagadeesan guided the innings and NS Chaturved finished things off with some excellent shots. With two strong teams locking horns, the encounter is expected to be a hard-fought one.
