Super Gillies has lost all three of its matches while Kovai Kings has won two out of four encounters so far. Kovai Kings suffered two consecutive losses prior to its win against Trichy Warriors on Monday.

Bowling first on a spin-friendly track at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul, Kovai Kings managed to restrict its opponents to 124.  Openers Shahrukh Khan (67) and Abhinav Mukund (42 not out) then ensured a comfortable chase. The Tirunelveli track is known to be spin-friendly too. Kovai Kings has three spinners in S Manigandan, S Ajith Ram and MP Rajesh and all three of them bowled well in the previous encounter. Following its clinical win over Trichy Warriors, Kovai Kings side will be confident to take on the Gillies.

Gillies, on the other hand, has been a struggling unit. It conceded 193 against Karaikudi Kaalai in its last game and fell short by 47 runs in the chase. Batting is a worry although KH Gopinath’s 47 in the last match will give it some confidence. These teams have met four times before in editions one and two, with Super Gillies coming up trumps thrice.
