“Atletico Madrid and Celta Vigo have reached an agreement over the transfer of Jonny Castro to our club. The defender, 24, has signed for our club until 2024 although he has been loaned to Wolverhampton in the Premier League,” said a statement from Atletico.

Castro made 183 appearances in La Liga for Celta and helped them reach the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2017, where they were eliminated by Manchester United. He has played for Spain at under-19 and under-21 level.

“Otto completed his paperwork at Compton on Wednesday and could make his competitive Wolves debut in the season opener against Everton on 11th August,” added a statement from Wolves, who earned promotion back to the English top flight last season after a six-year absence.
