Panthers and Kaalai in clash of heavyweights

Both teams have won four out of five matches and a win here will seal their place in the Playoffs. The top-four in the eight-team competition make the cut while finishing in the top two allows for a second shot at a place in the final. 

Both teams have won their last four outings and their clash is expected to be of high quality. Madurai Panthers registered an impressive win over Trichy Warriors in its previous outing. Chasing 176 for victory, Thalaivan Sargunam (70) and KB Arun Karthik (n.o. 80) ensured the win with 10 balls to spare. Its death bowling, however, remains a cause for concern. 

Kaalai was impressive in its win over another equally good team in Dindigul Dragons. Despite a stormy knock by R Vivek, Kaalai bowled well in the death overs to restrict the opposition to 177.
