“Pat (Cummins) was the senior bowler and he showed it from the start and on most parts our lengths were really great,” he said. “It’s a good effort. Had you given us 255 at the toss, we would have gladly taken it. They had a couple of good partnerships, but a pretty good effort from the bowlers and very good on the field as well.”
Starc said he was playing after a long gap in India. “I just came to know (on Monday) that it has been 84-85 games between ODIs in India for me.” The left-arm fast bowler also complimented the Australia spinners for their good effort.
India captain Virat Kohli admitted he would have bowled first as well. But he said he loved the challenge of defending a total as he was looking to do things that are not in his comfort zone.
Aaron Finch said it was a good effort from his side as Australia had not played ODIs since its World Cup semi-final. He was happy that all the quick bowlers were available, something which it did not have for some time.
