Shivi’s century not enough

Shivi Pandey’s (106 not out) unbeaten century went in vain as Chhattisgarh lost to Rajasthan by three wickets in the BCCI Women Under-23 Elite ‘C’ One-Day contest at the TI Murugappa Cricket Ground here on Saturday.

Shivi, who played a 135-ball innings that was laced with 11 fours and two maximums, fought a lone battle to guide Chhattisgarh to over 150 in its regulation overs.


Rajasthan managed to get to its target of 159 in 46.4 overs, thanks to a half-century from Sumitra Jat (59).


Brief scores: Assam 101 all-out in 45.2 overs (Bedashree Borpatra 27, Diksha Gawde 3/19, Sanjula Naik 3/20) lost to Goa 102 for 4 in 31 overs (Tehashwini Durgad 45). Points: Goa 4(16); Assam 0 (0).


Chhattisgarh 158 for 7 in 50 overs (Shivi Pandey 106*) lost to Rajasthan 159 for 7 in 46.4 overs (Sumitra Jat 59, Tanuja Vaishnav 34, Sangeeta Kumawat 27*, Ritu Meshram 3/37). Points: Rajasthan 4(28); Chhattisgarh 0 (24).  


Haryana 185 for 3 in 50 overs (Shivangi Chauhan 52, Tannu Joshi 57*, Suman Gulia 57*) beat Tripura 113 for 8 in 50 overs (Suravi Roy 28, Suman Guila 3/15). Points: Haryana 4(20); Tripura 0 (8).
