Gopal’s 6-wicket haul goes in vain

Right-arm medium pacer Gopal ran riot with the ball, scalping six wickets to help Ashok Leyland skittle out Michelin Tyres for 130 in 25.4 overs while fielding first. But the latter was ineffective in the chase, getting bowled out for 122 in 29 overs.

In another Group A contest, left-arm spinner S Karthick’s (5/26) five-wicket haul, a performance which included a hat-trick, wasn’t enough as Ordnance Clothing Factory lost to Apollo Tyres by just one run.
