Trio helps Nelson defeat AG’s Office

In reply to AG’s Office’s first innings total of 133, Nelson made 341 for six declared, thanks to centuries from Sridhar and Bist.

While the former’s 252-ball knock included 15 shots to the fence, the latter hit 10 fours and two maximums during his 153-ball stay in the middle.

With a deficit of 208 after the opening exchanges, AG’s Office was bowled out for 154 in the second innings, courtesy of Nelson’s right-arm medium pacer Poiyamozhi, who bagged a six-wicket haul. Nelson clinched six points for the win, with AG’s Office returning empty-handed.

At the CPT – IP Turf Ground, India Pistons CC got the better of Swaraj CC by a mammoth 217 runs.

Holding a 61-run advantage after the conclusion of the first innings, India Pistons was skittled out for 189 in 62.3 overs in the second innings, setting Swaraj a target of 250. Swaraj’s right-arm medium pacer B Praanesh (5/15) had a field day with the ball, getting a five-wicket haul.

In the final innings, Swaraj fell like a pack of cards, with India Pistons’ M Suresh Babu (5/6) running riot. The left-arm spinner sent half the opposition batters back to the pavilion and handed his team a comfortable win.

Elsewhere, Manprit Juneja (148*) and K Mukunth (161*) smashed unbeaten centuries for Alwarpet CC and Globe Trotters SC respectively.
