SAI gives Rs 30K each to 2,749 Khelo India athletes
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) said it has deposited Rs 30,000 each as out of pocket allowance in accounts of 2,749 Khelo India athletes, adding up to Rs 8.25 crore.

“The money was transferred to the bank accounts of the athletes on May 22. A total of 2,893 athletes will be given the OPA for the period, with the funds for the remaining 144 athletes to be transferred by the end of May,” said SAI.
The allowance includes expenses of travel to hometown, diet charges while at home and other miscellaneous ones incurred by the athletes. Athletes from 35 states and union territories have been given the OPA in 21 sporting disciplines.
Velammal to conduct online chess classes
Velammal Vidyalaya will conduct a live online chess course, commencing May 30. The course includes 24 classes, with sessions happening twice a week. Coaches Visweswaran, Thiyagarajan, Vishnu Prasanna and Gopalakrishnan will offer their inputs during the course, which is open to all. Those interested can enrol via www.velammalnexus.com.
