The 25-year-old has signed a two-year deal and joins Mumbai City on the back of an excellent season with Goa, where he won the ‘Golden Ball’ with 10 goals and 11 assists in 15 appearances. “It is no secret that I have had a very successful working relationship with head coach Sergio Lobera. He knows how to bring out the best in me. I am delighted to join him and my new teammates at this ambitious club,” Boumous said in a statement.
“I had a great last season at Goa, but I want to get better and win trophies,” he added. MCFC manager Lobera described Boumous as one of the finest footballers to have played in India. “His numbers and accolades speak volumes about what he can bring to our team. I expect him to play a crucial role as we look to achieve our collective ambitions,” said Lobera.
