Kings XI Punjab have been on a winning streak defeating top teams Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad after losing six games out of the seven games they played earlier in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2020 in UAE.
Cricket experts have pitched in to locate the cause behind this comeback. Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir had said that Kings XI Punjab's captain KL Rahul has the luxury of three fast bowlers for the death overs. "The best thing is that KL Rahul has three fast bowlers to whom he can give the ball to in the death overs", he said pointing out Mohammad Shami, Chris Jordan and Arshdeep Singh.
He credited the young player, Arshdeep Singh for the changeover of Punjab.
Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar was kind enough to remind everyone of the Kings XI's coach Anil Kumble's role who according to him has been a fighter by nature. "Do not forget the role of Anil Kumble. Anil Kumble has been a fighter all his cricketing career, you could see when he went out with a broken jaw and bowled, and that spirit is seen in the KXIP. That is the reason why they have comeback from impossible situations and are now in the hunt for the place in the playoffs", he said.
He also applauded KL Rahul for his amazing captaincy stating that he had grown into the role.
The team also grew stronger as the Universe Boss Chris Gayle was included in the playing XI, which made the top and middle order more powerful.
Kings XI Punjab is currently in the fifth spot in the IPL points table in contrast to being in the bottom of the table four games earlier.
