MI commits over-rate offence for second time

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has been fined Rs 24 lakh since his team maintained a slow over-rate during its loss to Punjab Kings at the MCA Stadium here on Wednesday.

“Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined Rs 24 lakh and the rest of the members in the playing eleven were fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their match fee, whichever is lower,” the IPL said in a statement. “This was the team’s second offence of the season under IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences.” Rohit will be suspended for a match if MI commits the offence for a third time under his leadership in IPL 2022.
