CHENNAI: Left-handed opener Aafreen Sait (54 not out off 53 balls, 8 fours) struck an unbeaten half-century as Tamil Nadu defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 34 runs in the BCCI Women’s Under-19 Group E first-round match in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Invited to bat first, Tamil Nadu put 130 for six on the board, thanks to a 65-run partnership between Aafreen and M Sabrina (24) for the fourth wicket. In the second essay, the Tamil Nadu bowlers were at their economical best as Jammu and Kashmir could manage only 96 for six.
