Addressing reporters, Pandian said that the Parliament’s Standing Committee should probe allegations such as RBI Governor Urjit Patel’s signature finding a place in the new currency notes even before he assumed office and BJP functionaries knowing about demonetisation well in advance.

Pandian claimed that lack of clarity on demonetisation even 28 days after it was announced shows that the union government lacks clarity on the issue. “While the government is struggling to issue Aadhar cards and ration cards to the common people how is cashless transaction possible,” he questioned. He expressed shock over the cardiac arrest suffered by Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and said she was fast recovering. He also made an appeal to stop spreading rumours about her health. Stating that people not allowed to see a patient in the intensive care unit is normal, he added that we have to believe the doctors. “On behalf of our party we wish her speedy recovery,” he made an appeal to AIADMK cadres not to attempt any practices against nature.
