24-year-old labourer found murdered at Palayamkottai

Onlookers informed the police who carried out investigations. As liquor bottles were found in the scene of crime, police suspect that Mahesh might have been murdered during a dispute while consuming liquor. Two other accused have also been secured. But kin of Mahesh claimed that liquor was sold at the workshop only with the knowledge of local police.  They said Mahesh must have been murdered by more than 10 men, in a dispute in getting liquor. They refused to accept the body and staged a protest. They attempted to burn down the workshop but it was thwarted.

AIADMK functionary, Dhanabal, who was running a stone quarry at Kandayaperi near Sankarankovil in Tirunelveli district was hacked by a labourer who worked at the quarry. The accused identified as Marisamy was arrested, and on enquiry he said that Dhanabal had not paid his wages regularly When he demanded his wages, he was abused by Dhanabal. In a fit of rage, he had hacked him, Marisamy informed the police.
