Yoga lifestyle clinic in Tiruchy government hospital gets fitness equipment
In order to address the lifestyle disorders, particularly the stress-related health conditions found to be escalating among public due to multiple causes, specialised fitness equipment have been launched for public use at the Yoga and Naturopathy Lifestyle Clinic functioning in the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) on December 21.

Officials claimed that the clinic has so far catered to the medical needs of nearly 1 lakh patients since its inception, and the footfall is most likely to increase in coming days with the launch of four specialised health gears. Functioning within the campus of MGMGH in Tiruchy since September 2014, treatments for various ailments predominantly lifestyle disorders such as hypertension, hyper thyroid, arthritis, obesity, and irregular menstrual cycle are being provided at the Naturopathy clinic here.
Meanwhile, to enhance the medical infrastructure of the Naturopathy clinic on par with private spas, at an estimated cost of `Rs 2 lakhs, hip bath, spinal bath, multipurpose treadmill and static cycle to rejuvenate the incoming patients diagnosed with lifestyle disorders was launched by Dr S Mary Lilly, the dean of MGMGH on Wednesday.
“The hydrotherapy which available free of cost will address the digestive disorders, obesity, menstrual irregularities and even uterine infections.” Medical official in Naturopathy clinic of the GH said. Similarly, spinal bath facility to address the hypertension, backache, nervous irritability, hyperactivity, and also insomnia due to stress has also been implemented in the Naturopathy clinic. To cater the cardiovascular therapy for patients at free of cost, multipurpose treadmill that has facility for stepper and twister exercise has also been installed.
