Auto driver murdered over petty quarrel

The incident happened in the night when the deceased Panneerselvam, from Avaniyapuram, was returning to his house in his auto. When he neared Padma Theater Colony in Avaniyapuram he had stopped and had reversed the vehicle. Unknowingly, While taking the reverse, he rammed against a bike belonging to Gnanavel Pandian. The biker Gnanavel Pandian, a resident of TNHB colony at Villapuram in Madurai, picked up fight with Paneerselvam for not switching on the indicator light in the vehicle while taking a reverse. The verbal duel between the two intensified. In a fit of anger, Gnanavel Pandian took out his knife which he had kept hidden in the vehicle, and stabbed Panneerselvam at many places. Panneerselvam started bleeding profusely. Soon, he fell down unconscious. Though, he was immediately rushed to the Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead. In the meantime, Gnanavel Pandian who did not expect the turn of events, absconded from the spot. Avaniyapuram police have booked a case and are investigating into the matter. The search for the accused, Gnanavel Pandian has been intensified. 

Man, who murdered his own brother in a property dispute issue in Madurai was arrested on Sunday. On Saturday, Thangapandi was murdered by his own brother Suresh. The brothers were quarrelling over an ancestral property for long. They could not amicably solve the dispute in sharing a house. As Suresh could not stand the difference of opinion any longer, he seized the opportunity to murder Thangapandi when he was asleep. Fearing arrest, Suresh absconded from the scene of crime after the incident. A complaint was filed and police launched a search for him. After an intense operations, Suresh was arrested by the police from his friend’s house at Madurai, on Sunday.
