In an interaction with reporters at his house at Kaveripattinam in Krishnagiri district on Monday, the former minister said that Divakaran’s speech had hurt the 1.5 crore party cadre. Divakaran, while addressing a gathering at a Pongal celebration organised by Sasikala’s husband M Natarajan in Thanjavur on Sunday, had said that the Mannargudi family had worked for the party ever since its inception.
Munusamy charged that said that Divakaran, Natarajan and Sasikala joined the party only after Jayalalithaa was at the helm of affairs in the party. Under these circumstances, how could have Natarajan worked for the party since its inception, according to Divakaran’s claims, the former minister wondered Claiming that Divakaran was not even a primary member of the party, Munusamy felt that Divakaran was making such tall and false claims only to make his position comfortable in the party. He also said that Divakaran should tender an unconditional apology to the party cadre for his incorrect statements. He further urged the party general secretary Sasikala to ask Divakaran not to make false claims and mislead the honest and hard-working party cadre throughout the state.
