Waiting to flag off the event: Madurai Collector

The Collector, who inspected the vadivasal at Alanganallur reviewed the security measures in the protest venue and instructed the officials of Revenue and police department to provide basic amenities to the protesters. Speaking to reporters, the Collector said that there are no incidents of violence and the protest is going on in a peaceful manner. He appealed to the protesters to stay calm as the state is trying to conduct the sport through Ordinance route. The Madurai district administration is ready to conduct jallikattu and is waiting for the orders of the state government. “If we get the go ahead, the event will be also held in Avaniyapuram and Palamedu. The vadivasals in these places are also kept ready,” Veera Raghav Rao added.
