Kalairajan gets anticipatory bail in threat to OPS case
The Madras High Court granted anticipatory bail to an AIADMK office-bearer P Kalairajan, who had threatened to chop the hands of the former chief Minister O Paneerselvam, after he upped his ante against the AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala.

Justice V Bharathidasan who heard the plea granted the anticipatory bail as prayed. Teynampet police had registered a case against Kalairajan based on a complaint that he had threatened to use force against the then chief minister O Paneerselvam by hitting him as well as chopping his hands. Police had registered cases under IPC sections 504 and 506, which deals with intentional insult with intent to provoke and punishment for criminal intimidation. Kalairajan, fearing arrest, approached the High Court stating that he is innocent and there remains no truth in the allegations.
