Speaking at the party’s 12th general body meet on Sunday here, he held them responsible for the state lagging behind others in various aspects.

Stating that it is the need of the hour to save Tamil Nadu from the clutches of these major parties, he said “people should be relieved from Dravidian and cinematic politics.” Moreover, he said the alliances in the elections were not formed by agreeing on the same policies but often based on hatred for the other. Economy, education and culture of the state has suffered a lot in the past 50 years in the milieu of this hatred, he added.

Krishnasamy also condemned the tax hike on petroleum products brought in by the state government. He said the increase will further burden the common man. He urged the state to roll-back the hike. He reiterated his support for the Hydrocarbon project and appealed to the Centre to explain the pros and cons of the project to the people directly. He was quick to add that no project should pollute the environment. A total of nine resolutions were passed in the general body meeting which was followed by a social media training programme for youth and participating office-bearers to make their presence felt in Facebook.
