Nothing new, agri loan not waived: Stalin
Leader of Opposition and DMK working president, MK Stalin has termed the budget for 2017-18 as ‘old wine in a new bottle’ here on Thursday.

Addressing the media after the session, Stalin said, “The government itself has accepted the fact that a total of Rs 3,14,366 would remain as debt on March, 31, 2018. Further, the budget has no new scheme and agriculture loan is not waived.”
To a question about difference between 2016 and current budgets, the LoP said, “the budget has no developmental schemes and we will raise issues during the debate
on the budget in the Assembly.” This was nothing but old wine in a new bottle, he termed.
Similarly, Su Thirunavukkarasar, president, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) said that the budget had nothing to do with the common people and it clearly indicated that it was prepared by government officials in a hurry.
BJP’s Pon Radhakrishnan said, “The budget says nothing about new schemes or job opportunities and it speak of deficit, but has no word on how to bring it down. It is an example the how the budget without any new scheme was presented.”
