Anbumani Ramadoss in a statement said, “the budget recently presented by the government is an example of how the state’s financial condition is in bad shape and it lacks development and achievement of long-term vision.”

Stating that the state was spending 73 per cent from the total tax income for freebies, Anbumani stressed that the government should focus on improving livelihood of common people by implementing various developmental schemes and not through freebies.”

The state’s growth between 2007-08 and 2012-13 could not be termed as ‘over growth,’ he said. “Worse still, the state government is borrowing for distributing freebies and since the budget for 201718 remained as deficit one, the state has failed to apply corrective measures for achieving financial stability.”
