Senior organisers of the federation said that they had sought an appointment to meet the CM at his office in Chennai on Friday, the day after the fund was allotted for the first phase of work to begin in the coming financial year. “His assistant asked us not to worry as he would be in Coimbatore the following day and that we could meet him there,” he said.
Around 400 men and women were given permission to meet the CM and they thanked him by adorning him with a shawl and presenting him bouquets. “The CM said we need not protest anymore as he seemed determined to implement the project at the earliest,” an organiser told DTNext.
