Plea against Kamal Haasan

A petition had been filed against actor Kamal Haasan for his alleged derogatory remarks against the Mahabharata and Hinduism, at Vallioor Court in Tirunelveli Court, on Tuesday.

Petitioner, Adhinadhasundram, from Vallioor, in his petition had claimed that Kamal Haasan in a recent interview with a private satellite TV had said that people in India read the Mahabharata where gambling is written about. 

He said that the remarks of Kamal Haasan is an insult to Hindus, as the Mahabharata is one of the sacred texts of the religion and the teachings of Lord Krishna in Mahabharata forms the Bhagavat Gita, another sacred book of Hinduism. 

The petitioner asked for a case to be filed against Kamal Haasan for his derogatory comments. The petition was filed at the Judicial Magistrate Court at Vallioor.
