Farook case: Cops get 1-day custody of trio

Judicial Magistrate-V of the Coimbatore Court R Selvakumar on Thursday granted one day custody of the trio, who surrendered in the rationalist Farook murder case, to the police.

It may be recalled that three persons surrendered in the case on Friday and police arrested another group of three persons on Monday. The surrendered trio, M Ansath, Saddam Hussain and Samsudeen, all from Podanur, were lodged in the Coimbatore central prison. 

On Tuesday, Coimbatore City Police filed a petition before the JM-V in Coimbatore seeking custody of the trio to quiz them in connection with the murder. 

On Thursday, the JM accepting the appeal granted one day custody of all the three accused to police. The trio will be in the custody of police till 5 pm on Friday and then produced before the court.
