Aavin goes to institutions in Madurai

To popularise its products among youngsters, Aavin would set up parlours to sell its products at educational institutions, said C Kamaraj, Managing Director, Aavin, at Madurai, on Monday.

After inspecting the Aavin parlour at Madurai, Kamaraj also inaugurated the cattle feed manufacturing unit at Kappalur near Madurai built on 10.5 acres at a cost of Rs.50 crore. This facility will of great help to the farmers as 300 tonnes of cattle feed would be manufactured per day. This would directly benefit farmers of 10 southern districts. would be benefited from the cattle feed. This would also help improve quality of milk during drought. 

Flavoured milk, ice cream 

Kamraj said that two separate plants for manufacturing flavoured milk and ice creams would be set up at Madurai. The flavoured milk manufacturing plant that would be setup at a cost of Rs 30 crore would be able to produce 24,000 litres of flavoured milk a day. 

Similarly, the ice cream manufacturing plant would be setup at a cost of Rs 53 crores and 30,000 litres of ice cream would be manufactured every day. Both plants would be set up on 8.3 acres in the Aavin Plant premises at Madurai shortly. 

He also explained that a number of new Aavin parlours (nearly 100) would be set up not only in educational institutions and at important junctions to enable the products to be within reach of the public.

“There are plans to introduce products such as butter milk and cup curd in the new parlours,” said Kamraj.
