Army jawan dies of heart attack
An Army jawan who was on leave died of heat attack at his native village of Keezhapandavarmangalam near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district, on Monday. He was laid to rest with government honour at his native village, on Tuesday.

The deceased Jawan identified as Chellappan, was working at Clive region at Jammu and Kashmir. He had recently come home on leave when he suffered a heart attack on Monday. His family members rushed him to a private hospital at Kovilpatti where he died.
On Tuesday, an Army team from Tiruvananthapuram headed by Subedhar Sadhanandha paid respect for him. On behalf of the district administration, Kovilpattti tahsildar, Devasagayam paid respect to him. Chellappan was survived by his wife and two daughters.
