Delhi team raids houses of TTV Dinakaran’s aides

Sources told DTNext that the team, after night-long interrogation of Dinakaran, left him in custody of other officials at Rajaji Bhavan and conducted searches on three places in and around the city.

The officials first went to the house of Mohan Rangan, who was the general manager of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board and reportedly a close associate of Dinakaran at Adambakkam. The team interrogated Rangan and issued summons asking him to come to Delhi.

Police sources said that the officials spent two hours at the house of Rangan, who is a native of Mannargudi, the native place of VK Sasikala. 

The team then reached Mangadu and questioned a person identified as Philip. He is said to be an executive of a private company and closely linked to Dinakaran. The team also raided his premises. Sources said that the officials hinted at the possibility of summoning him for further interrogation. 

The Delhi police team also raided the house of an advocate Ganapathi at Tiruverkadu and another advocate in the same locality. The officials questioned Ganapathi regarding his financial dealings with Dinakaran. Sources said that those who were interrogated on Friday, had also been questioned in Delhi in connection with the case.

Dinakaran might be taken to Kochi and Bengaluru after investigations in Chennai are over. Mallikarjuna and a hawala agent from Kerala are also being interrogated by the Delhi team for their alleged nexus with Dinakaran in the bribery case. 

The Delhi crime branch had arrested Dinakaran after he reportedly tried to bribe an Election Commission official through middleman Sukesh Chandrasekhar to get back the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol to his faction during RK Nagar by-election.
