Recording their assurance and on enquiring about the decision of other associations the vacation bench of Justice N Kirubakaran and Justice V Parthiban said, “They are stating that they are striking only after the duty hours without affecting the treatment to the patients. Further, it is stated out of the 18,000 doctors in Tamil Nadu, 15,000 doctors are their members. The affidavit is taken on file.”
“This court hopes that the patient treatment will be taken care of by the doctors without any problem in future. As far as the doctors, who are not reporting to duty, it is for the state to take action against them in accordance with law,” he added.
On Friday, advocate AK Velan moved a PIL claiming that the doctors cannot be allowed to continue the protest as it would adversely affect the public due to non-availability of immediate medical treatment.
